Belgian economic mission to BRAZIL
An important Belgian economic mission will be organised in Brazil from May 15 to 22, 2010.
This economic mission will be organised jointly by the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency and by the regional Institutions for Foreign Trade (AWEX - Wallonia Export and Investment Agency, Brussels Export, and Flanders Investment & Trade). Co-ordination between the 4 partners will be assured by the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency.
The Federal Public Service of Foreign Affairs in Brussels will handle the political and protocol aspects of the programme.
The economic mission will be presided over by HRH Prince Philippe of Belgium, Honorary Chairman of the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency.
HE Steven Vanackere, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Institutional Reform, will take part in the mission as a member of the federal government.
HE Benoît Cerexhe, Minister of Employment, Economy, Foreign Trade and Scientific Research of the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region will also join the mission.
The Belgian delegation will stay primarily in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with a visit to Brasilia for the officials and to Belo Horizonte for the businessmen.
200 businessmen are expected to participate, representing 120 companies. As regards the press, about thirty journalists representing the major Belgian television channels and daily newspapers will most likely participate.
